A Beautiful Garden
In the beginning of Genesis we find God planting a garden and watering it... only God’s gardening hobby is not limited to plants. He creates His first people from dirt, with the ability to affect the world by giving them free choice.
A Deadly Choice
But it is Man’s free choice that eventually leads to the ruined garden. We choose to eat our own fruit of g ood and evil over God’s fruit that leads to life. We are given life, but we choose death.
A Promised Restoration
Yet His goal is to restore what has been tainted. God’s tree of life -the Cross- saves us from our sins by the piercing of Jesus’ hands and feet. Jesus is restoring God’s creation! Upon Jesus’ resurrection, Mary Magdalene comes to the tomb only to find that His body is missing. “Mary turned around and saw Jesus standing there, but she did not recognize Him. She thought He was the gardener.” (John 20:14-15).
