Walcamp Outdoor Ministries provides a wealth of adventure and experiences for campers ages 12-18.
We believe that lives are shaped and transformed by Jesus Christ, and that there is no better way to grow and learn than to experience Jesus in nature, adventure, relationship, worship, and fun. Our programs are specifically designed to help campers unplug from their busy life, and experience God in nature. As they canoe down the Rock River, help their teammates solve a challenge, or sit around a campfire, campers grow in independence, leadership, and their relationship with Jesus.
Camp as it’s been for the last 52 years! All Junior High classic campers will be able to go swimming, canoeing, archery, as well as have opportunities to use the high ropes course and sleep in one of our adventure sites during the week!
July 31-August 5
Live it up like you’re nocturnal during this week of midnight madness! Sleep all day and stay out all night while you learn about the night life of animals, spend an evening mini-golfing, go behind the scenes at a late night restaurant, and learn about the stars and God’s creativity on an AWE-stronomy hike.
Hold onto your hats because this week at Horseback camp is a wild ride! Spend time every day at Eagles Wings Equestrian Center in Kirkland, Illinois getting to know your new trusty steed and learning how to ride like a champion. Eagles Wings is a Christian Equestrian center where you learn about the roles horses play in God’s Word.
June 26-July 1
Learn about team work on Walcamp’s new paintball course. Spend time each day practicing your strategy with your cabin group and navigating the different areas of the course. You will experience offense and defense in varying terrain and background. Walcamp will provide all necessary equipment.
June 26-July 1
Discover new abilities and strengths you never knew you had while spending time in God’s creation. These weeks of adventure will have you growing, learning, and discovering God in a new and unique way.
TREE HOUSE + CANOE TRIP
Camp in the tree houses and take a one day canoe trip down the Kishwaukee River. Learn about cooperation and adventure while “navigating” God’s plan for our lives.
Enjoy yourself underground during this week of subterranean exploration. Learn about caves at camp before spending two nights camping at Blue Mound State Park. Take a day trip to Cave of the Mounds in Blue Mounds, Wisconsin. Come see what God has created under your feet.
CIT — COUNSELORS IN TRAINING
You’ve experienced being a camper. Now, develop your servant leadership skills through a 2-week program of intensive training and hands on experience. Register for a CIT training week offered at the beginning of the summer for instruction and training, then return for a second week of your choice to work directly with a counselor and cabin group. Completion of this program will certify you to come back next summer as a full fledged Junior Servant to help further the mission and ministry of Walcamp.
–This is a great opportunity to accumulate the service hours that many High Schools require.
Ages 14-16 Training Sessions:
June 19 – July 1
July 24 – August 5
– If the second week of a session does not work, contact our Program Director, Louis Blocker, to schedule a difference second week at firstname.lastname@example.org.
