The Board of Ambassadors demonstrates the highest level of commitment to Walcamp, by underwriting the mission of Walcamp Outdoor Ministries. As Walcamp leaders, members of the Board of Ambassadors take an active role within the organization, or solely provide financial support. Their funding sustains the organizational infrastructure that supports the work of Walcamp.
Who are Members of the Board of Ambassadors?
Members of the Board of Ambassadors are united in their commitment to Christ, and share a vested interest in the success of Walcamp and its mission of outreach to youth and families. Membership of this prestigious group represents church, community, business, and professional leaders who encourage others to be involved in the ministry of Walcamp. They are long-term regular supporters who are friends of Walcamp and want to make a difference in its ministry.
What are the qualifications for the Board of Ambassadors?
Ambassadors sponsor the ministry of Walcamp with an annual agreed amount. All individuals and legal organizations are eligible for Board of Ambassadors membership. There are no restrictions or special requirements. Walcamp Outdoor Ministries is proud to be associated with all of our Ambassadors, and gratefully recognizes their contributions to the ministry. In acknowledgement of their significant contributions, Ambassadors are recognized as honorary guests at special events.
How does the Board of Ambassadors support Walcamp?
Regular giving from Ambassadors helps us plan our budget, enables us to do more to help youth and families, and helps to ensure the long-term stability of Walcamp’s programs. Members serve as volunteer spokespersons and financial supporters for Walcamp. They contribute to existing Walcamp Committees, and provide the resources essential to advance the ministry of Walcamp.
In addition to financial support, members of the Board of Ambassadors:
• Share information about Walcamp in their local congregation
• Attend Walcamp special events (Fall Festival, Golf Outing, Dinners,
etc.)
• Solicit sponsors and guests for Walcamp fundraising events
• Recruit new volunteers, donors, and BOA members
• Participate on programs and committees
• Attend Executive Briefings
How are contributions from Ambassadors allocated?
To ensure a lasting legacy, fifty percent of very dollar contributed by the Board of Ambassadors is invested in the Endowment Fund. The Endowment Fund is reserved for capital expenditures and expansion programs, and is separate from general operating funds. One third of donations go towards general operating expenses, and fifteen percent is reserved for Campership Grants.
How can I become a Walcamp Ambassador?
You can register by downloading and completing the registration form. There are several options for making your contributions. You may pay online, submit a check, we can bill you monthly, or you can have funds automatically withdrawn monthly from your bank account through Thrivent's Simply Giving® program. Through Simply Giving®, your gifts are made through a pre-authorized withdrawal from your bank account. To participate, download and complete the Simply Giving® Enrollment Form and return it to Walcamp.
