To Our Valued Walcamp Supporters;
There is excitement in the air as we anticipate 2006 and part of that excitement is due to the continued support of you, are valued Walcamp supporters. Thanks to you our long term debt has been reduced to zero and with the elimination of the debt our visions for God’s work have taken our thoughts and prayers to new possibilities. One of the initiatives within the possibilities is the very reason for this letter.
The Board of Directors of Walcamp would like to formally announce the creation of the Walcamp Outdoor Ministries Endowment Fund.
We have appointed a five member committee to administer the endowment fund. This committee will consist of two current board members and three long time Walcamp supporters. The two board members are Bob Pethes as Chairman and John Masus as Vice Chairman. The three non board members are LaVerne Smith, Ralph Schulz and Roger Geske. This new Endowment Committee has a combined support and service to Walcamp of over 142 years. Now that is what we call dedication and experience. The entire board of Walcamp would like to officially welcome this new committee.
I am sure many people will have questions about the fund. How can I contribute? How will the money be invested? How will the money be used? What are the objectives of the Endowment Fund? As a convenience there is a list of all the committee members attached to the bottom of this letter. Any of these people would be more than happy to answer any and all questions that you have. In fact, they will look forward to hearing from you.
As a general rule we will follow the principal of income from the endowment fund supporting various capital expenditures and programs related to those expenditures, while our general operating funds will support the overall maintenance and ongoing expenses of Walcamp.
There are various ways to contribute to this endowment fund. If you are interested in more particulars we invite you to contact any of our committee members to further discuss your wishes. The ways in which one may contribute to the endowment fund are varied; everything from immediate gifts to gifts of a future interest or bequests. The gifts may also take many forms, cash, securities and real estate to name but a few.
Our purpose in this letter is not to list all of the ways and types of gifts that are acceptable (that would take many pages and paragraphs) but rather to let you know that there are options to accommodate different situations.
We at Walcamp are excited! Now through prayerful deliberation we wish to continue and expand the mission of Walcamp. That mission is to spread the message of Christ’s love through Walcamp Outdoor Ministries. We thank you for your past support and look forward to your continued participation in Walcamp Outdoor Ministries.
Sincerely, John Masus
Vice Chairman
