Camp Life
Village Life
Outdoor Villages offer the chance to exchange the comforts of home for a week of adventure in the great outdoors.
Treehouse Village
The treehouse village consists of two treehouses - Tarzan and Jane. Each treehouse can sleep up to ten and provides a limited amount of shelving space. Campers sleep on a plywood floor so plan on bringing a camp mat or thick sleeping bag for added comfort.
Survivor Camp
Survivor camp takes place at one of several rustic locations around camp. Campers build their own shelters on Monday using tree branches -or whatever is handy- and then sleep in them through the remainder of the week.
First Aid
A registered nurse monitors our staff, and all counselors are trained in first-aid. Each village is provided with a first-aid kit and a radio for 24-hour communication with the camp nurse, should the need arise.
Cookouts
Each outdoor village is equipped with a campfire ring, where campers share several of their meals. Possible menu selections include personal pizzas, Hobo stew, tacos, Cake in an Orange, and -by means of a Dutch oven- apple or peach cobblers. All food and supplies are retrieved from our kitchen.
Restrooms & Showers
Showers and restroom facilities are available to all campers including those in villages
Transportation
Due to the rustic nature of the experience, Village campers can expect to carry their luggage to their campsite. Space is limited, so only bring what is necessary -especially in Survivor where some items may be left outside.
Weather
Walcamp closely monitors the weather to ensure the safety each program and activity, and trains staff to act accordingly. In the event of poor or extreme weather conditions, Village Camp groups are brought inside and use alternate facilities until the weather clears.
