Frequently Asked Questions:
Camp Memories
Why should I sign a Photo Release?
In respect for your privacy, Walcamp requests your permission to use photos and/or video of each participant for our website (including the Photo Gallery!), brochures, videos and other printed or visual media. We seek to only use photos where permission has been granted for their use, and since summer camp averages 70-100 campers a week, it is helpful for us to obtain that permission beforehand. If you have any questions about this, please contact Ben, ben@walcamp.org.
Group Photos and Memory DVDs
How can I get a group photo of my child's week at camp?
Walcamp takes a formal group photo during every week of summer camp. When you arrive on Sunday, visit the camp store to order your all-camp photo. Photos will be delivered on Friday.
What is the Memory DVD?
Each week, Walcamp offers a Memory DVD with video clips of the week's activities, typically set to music relating to the Summer theme and camp songs sung throughout the week. When you arrive on Sunday, visit the camp store to order your DVD. DVDs are delivered on Friday.
Are there pictures on the DVD?
No. The DVD only contains video footage. To see photos of your camper, access our Online Photo Gallery.
What if the DVD isn't ready?
Due to the amount of video footage to assemble -or unforseen technical difficulties- the DVD is not always ready by Friday. In such an event, the DVD will be mailed as soon as possible (usually 2-4 weeks) with no additional cost.
Online Photo Gallery
Where can I find pictures of my campers?
Walcamp uses a secure online photo gallery to provide increased security and the ability to order prints of your camper's experience. To view the album, browse to the Photo Gallery and log in using your Registration account.
How do I see the photos if I did not register my child online?
Send an email to Ben, ben@walcamp.org, with this question and basic camper info (name, dates attending and camp session) for access information.
Someone else registered the camper. Can I still access the gallery?
Yes, it is possible for grandparents and other relatives or family friends to view the gallery. To do so the parent or gaurdian who registered the camper needs to set up a "Friend Account" for you. This account is limited and does not permit purchase of full-size photos at this time, however it can be used to send camper email if it has already been purchased.
I logged in to my account but it is still asking me to enter a Gallery Password. Why is that?
If you are requested to enter a password, there are probably not any photos uploaded of your camper’s session yet.
If your child is presently at camp for a summer session, please contact our media staff and they will provide information on how soon to expect an update.
How often are photos uploaded during the summer?
Our goal is to upload photos every evening beginning the Monday of each session. Please be patient as activities, tech difficulties and production of our DVD may cause some delays during the week. Be sure to check back a week or two later for any delayed posts (esspecially from trip camps as some may use a disposable camera).
How do I purchase prints of the photos?
To purchase photos, simply add them to your "Cart" then follow the directions to checkout. Access will be provided to downlaod a full-resolution digital file for each photo which you must save to your hard-drive or other portable media (like a flash drive). From there, simply take the files to your favorite photo processing center as if developing from a digital camera. (Some, like Wal-Mart, also provide the option to place an online order directly from your computer.)
My child is a Jr. Servant this week. Can I still see their photos?
Yes, Jr. Servants and their families can access to the photo gallery as described above.
Please Note:
Photos, video and other Memories media are provided by Walcamp as a service to let families see their camper(s) activities thoughout the week and to provide a means of recording memories into a personal photo album or scrapbook. They are not intended for duplication or redistribution, and should never be posted on an online website or social network (like MySpace) for any reason. Thank yuo for your cooperation in this.
